When I was a teenager, we would drive to Austin and go to a club on 6th
Street. We would pay $1 admission and sit on the floor to listen to a
nobody named Stevie Ray Vaughan. Once, he played the acoustic guitar
until his fingers bled. He would tape them up and keep on playing. He
died when he was only 35 and when they buried him, there was plenty of
music left in his box. He was the greatest I ever heard, playing live.
