And I read that there *is* a link to pigs, as well as birds.

Yes you do. Well, maybe not *you*. I have no pigs in my house, or my
yard. I'm safe. You can only catch the flu from a pig that has the
flu, and that you have contact with. Don't let them sneeze on you!
Note that pigs can and do contract the human flu virus also.

Correct. And if you want to be absolutely, for sure, safe, cooking the
meat to 160F will kill any virus.
