I read the Space Merchants about 50 years ago. I remember that it was not
as memorable as I thought it would be, and that when I saw the blimp
floating over LA in Blade Runner that that was taken right out of Space
Merchants, either directly or indirectly.

I remember that "consies" came from some book I read during that time but I
don't recall which. Actually, in my mind, I associated it with Burgess'
Wanting Seed for some reason.
