I remember canned chickens. They looked just awful, but they were
tender and flavorful. That was the best chicken I've ever tasted for
chicken & dumplings or chicken and homemade noodles ( a rare treat!)
I wish I could buy chicken stock/broth as good as the liquid that came
in those big cans of chicken. It grossed me out when I was a kid
because unless the kitchen was 85 degrees or more it jellied. Now I
could handle it!
