A dear friend was cremated and had her ashes scattered on her prize winning
roses, as she always believed that ashes promoted growth. I read somewhere
that Natalie Schaeffer (Mrs. Howell from Gilligan's Island) did the same
thing.....I think I read it in Dawn Well's write up in the Gilligan's Island
cookbook (no comments Christine!) about how whenever she went by the roses
she 'inherited', she always greeted her with 'Hello, Nat, the roses are
beautiful'...
