Although I've never had an OBE, I never dismiss people who claim to
have odd experiences or seen mysterious things. I used to, but not any
more. There is something or other Out There that is very real, that
exists outside of passing, linear time and sometimes a part of it can
interact with our consciousness it in some way. It's where
premonitions, OBE's, "near death experiences" and probably a lot of
other things come from and a I suspect that lot more people probably
have had "borderline" experiences than are willing to publicly admit
it. JB Priestley wrote a great book called Man and Time around 1965,
which is full of peoples' odd experiences (including a few of his
own), and he thinks it all comes down to time and the way we perceive
it and (try to) order it around that is responsible for not only many
odd experiences but also many the world's problems. He asks
scientists, mathematicians, philosophers, housewives and others for
their views and experiences and the responses are fascinating. I don't
know if it's still in print but if you can find a copy, it's really
good. It doesn't provide all the answers but it's a reminder that
you're not alone.
