When we lived in Hudson, FL in the early 90s, the Jewel store had St.
Dalfour preserves:

The price rang up higher than the shelf tag. Every day. sometimes
twice a day if I'd go in the morning and evening, they'd have to give
me that jam for free. Why they didn't correct the problem, I don't
know, but I got a bunch of jars of that stuff for free. It went on
for a week or so. Even with my wife being a PBJ monster, we had that
stuff for at least a year, probably two. I know some jars moved back
up to StL with us.
It's damned good jam.
