Yes. Trans fats kill. Vicious cats generally just injure, unless
they're rabid of course. The concept of "threat to our species" does,
however, extend to any animal that acts violently toward a human,
unless the human has done something unreasonable to provoke it.
My cat is currently hunting a moth. She's awfully cute, and quite
gentle with my wife and son, though he has gotten a few nasty
scratches. Those scratches were not the result of her attacking him,
but from extending her back claws to hold on when she perceived that
she was falling. She gently nips too. It's the kind of bite that
kittens do when playing. There's no viciousness there. My son is the
one who gets scolded for being too rough with her, though from him she
seems to be OK with it, and he's never mean to her, just rough.
