Ah!!!! I think you have hit upon one reason why I never liked
Arby's offerings.

(speaking o' such thinly sliced beef, I recently tried a beef dish
at a Japanese restaurant, thinking it would be somewhat like
sukiyaki [I was bored with the offerings]. The beef was in
microscopic pieces--not ground but shredded somehow. As you say,
it didn't feel like beef. For that matter, it didn't taste at all
like beef.)
