Default Exotic fruits, why hard to find?

There are bananas in other countries that are delicious, but they have a
thin skin, they would suffer from too much bruising.

Other countries grow beautiful pineapples, but you can not ship them to
Hawaii. Cassavas can not be shipped to Hawaii or Puerto Rico. Brazil
has some awesome tangerines that are really large, but we can not get
them here. We can not get Japanese cucumbers. It could be our local
growers who try to prohibit the importation of these fruits, and
possibly for legitimate reasons. Or not.
