Click the friends button at the bottom, or maybe it is called chat. Not
quite sure as I never have it on. It is at the right side on the bottom
next to the notifications button. When the box opens, click options and
then turn chat off. It will stay that way until you click the chat button
again. It should say now Chat (Offline).
