Michael -

Now I understand! But to be honest, I would have balked at the Hummer
because of the ride. I've been in the military one, and for long
distance, I wouldn't choose that over the other couple of 4x4s you mention.

If I'm driving cross-country, comfort and gas mileage are the primaries.
A Hummer would not make the list (on either count).
