As a youth my favorite corn was yellow Trucker's Favorite, normally
grown as animal fodder it was very sweet and tasty at the "sugar" stage.
Dad used to grow three or four acres of it to feed the stock and we
would eat it young. Ears up to fifteen inches long, about two or three
inches in diameter, and really, really good stuff. Haven't seen any of
it in nearly fifty years though.
