I think deja has waited tables. Every tenth customer is likely to be this
way. They are paying to make someone uncomfortable. I had a guy like this,
and I finally got down on one knee at the end of the booth and looked him in
the face (his wife and daughter were there too) and said "Sir, what can I do
to make you happy?" This after taking his meal back three times and finally
having it "comped" as we used to say.

I had called him so accurately (he knew I was saying that there was NOTHING
I could do to make him happy because happiness was not what he wanted, he
wanted to torment me) that he flew into an immediate rage, stormed out the
door, yelling at the manager on the way out "You need to teach your GIRL
that the customer is always RIGHT!"

I told my boss everything and how could he fault me?

heh heh heh.
