Why would you want to emulate anyone? Be your own person, develop your own
style that suites your own tastes.
Read everything you can, articles, cookbooks, etc. That should give you
ideas... then put the books back on the shelf, gather some quality
ingredients and start cooking.
Cooking is a process where you are always learning. Because of differences
in quality or availability of ingredients, a good cook has to be
adaptable.... and adventurous.
Never be a slave to a recipe... or the "style" of the latest "chef".
YMMV
