Because it is not a gratuitous insult at all.
Having a distorted time sense could be an
early symptom of dementia.
I've noticed over the last five years or so
I've sometimes substituted "c" for "s", like
recently when I spelled Lidia's last name as
Bastinish. I know perfectly well how to spell
her name, and I do find it a bit alarming that
this new spelling error has crept into my
writing, precisely because it could be an early
sign of dementia. It's not an insult to say
that. It's a simple statement of fact.
When helpful facts are mentioned, it's the height
of bad manners to respond with insults.
