It is quite tasty, I have to say.. like a giant blueberry muffin with
topping.
I am not sure what the lemon sugar syrup would have done to the taste
had it poured it over the warm cake.. Surely there is a lot of lemon
zest in there already (two in the batter and two in the topping), so
the lemon flavor really comes through. I didn't use the syrup because
it said to leave it someplace warm until the cake was ready. I left it
on the burner and when I came back to it, I could have made lemon
brittle.
