Yes I did. You inspired me to give the pickle brine a shot, and I was at
the end of a pickle jar life-cycle (ate them all), and I had a "can" of
beets in the cupboard, as well as 18 eggs (used eight for pickling), so
I was feeling adventurous given your postings :-) I had only Vlassic But
I'm giving them a chance :-).

I created an Outlook reminder to poke me in a week, to see how well your
suggestion works.
