She's just taken the concept further.

I was reading a biography of Jack Kerouac a few weeks ago, a thirty
year old book that I finally read, and in his last days not only did
he spend a lot of time drinking (not a new story) but he spent a lot
of time watching tv (not new either), but the book did specifically
mentiong "The Galloping Gourmet". RIght there on the day he started
hemorraging, which caused his death some hours later.
