It was interesting that the three finalists were all "TV chefs". On the
whole, the show featured much better food than the regular program, but
was kind of boring. It lacked any real conflict between the
contestants, it was mostly, "You're so great, I love your stuff!!!!"

The judging panel was mostly boring, except when sweet Gail Simmons
alternated in. It would have been lots lots better if she'd been there
all the time. Oseland's only use was that he didn't seem to like
Chiarello much, and kind of shafted him on the finals. The independent
numberic scoring system for judging added to the snooze factor.

At any rate, I was satisfied with the winner. Bayless was pretty
consistent throughout the show. I was mainly happy that Chick-A-rello
didn't win. I still can't stand him.
