The first Indian food I ever ate at a restaurant as a child was Bangladeshi; no
food has since compared with it in terms of spice and flavor. Earlier this
year, I did a fusion concert in NYC with a renowned American sitarist.
Afterwards, she insisted we head over to this hole-in-the-wall Bangladeshi
place catering to cab drivers. One bit of that amazing chicken stewed with hard
boiled eggs and I was hooked! To say nothing of the karela and other
vegetables.
