My new Woll Titan Plus pan came yesterday, but I did not get to try it until
today. It is very well made, thick casting, nicely machined bottom, and
hefty for aluminum.
I always use butter or bacon fat to fry eggs, but they brag about the
non-stick coating so I did my egg dry t his morning. While the egg came out
in one piece, it did leave some residue on the bottom and the egg did not
slide as it would with some fat. This is not a big deal because I always
use some fat when frying anything.
Tonight we made shrimp. I heated the pan, added a small bit of butter and
olive oil. Once heated, I added the shrimp. They cooked evenly, no hot
spots. I also bought the glass lid but did not use that yet. Again, nicely
made but it is a lid, not a world wonder.
Woll is on sale until the 24th. At half price, it is a very nice pan that
should last for decades. At full price, I'd have pass on it.
This is where I bought it.
