Big difference between not posting, and not reading. I was not much of a
contributer for many years as I had no time. I went from military, to
sys admin internationally, to system engineer, etc, to father of two
boys, and working way too many hours, and having projects that were
international in scope... tons of travel, weird hour conference calls,
7/24 on call problem resolution facilitator, etc..
I can google a Usenet posting from me from 1996 if that makes a
difference to you.
My first PC was a radio shack PC1 (8k of memory with no hard drive) in
1979. 286's I don't believe were available yet although I didn't
research that... not worth the trouble. First system I worked on? A
Philco Ford processor the size of a double refrigerator. The next? A PDP
11/34. So yes, I go a ways back.
So your near, is a ways off. Not that should matter except for those
wanting to pull seniority :-) And in that case, it is likely you are
older than me, so that's okay. I was raised to respect my elders.
Regards,
Bob
