DH runs something called 'leafnode' for the newsgroups he reads (pulls
from usenet-news and two other filler-servers) and I see that the logs
have indicated the odd authentication error in the last day or three,
but nowhere near as bad as it was a week or two ago; so, yes, I'd say
there has been an improvement, but it hasn't disappeared completely.
Thing is, if one uses leafnode it keeps retrying to pull headers and/or
post every 10 minutes or so (depending how one has it configured) - so
if one of his posts doesn't get through on the 'first pass' it usually
gets through on the next, so to him it's No Biggie.
