I think the proprietors of my favorite (and now our only) Indian
Restaurant are Muslim and so wouldn't celebrate Diwali. Would it be
rude to ask? Even Orthodox Jews usually acknowledge Christmas to
their Gentile friends . . . unless they're Hasids and they don't SPEAK
to anybody who's not a Hasid - usually the same kind of Hasid they
are!
