Last Saturday, my 18 year old son, who has caught one of these bugs,
called me at 2:30 AM and said that he was experiencing hallucinations -
he kept seeing a building with cut-away walls where the people inside
kept following him, if they got too close to the edge they'd fall off.
My 30 year old son, who also has the flu, tells me that he couldn't
shake the idea out of his head that he was a cowboy riding the range and
kept seeing a board game grid filled with jewels whenever he closed his
eyes. He says he's not going to be playing video games for a while.
This is the first time I've heard of such nutty goings on and my
assumption is that this flu season could be an especially memorable one.
My son said this was somewhat different from past illness in severity -
the good thing is that the fever part seems to be over for both of them.
They sure looked like hell though.
