I've posted this link a couple of times before. It's to an article
from Sunset magazine reporting the results of blind-tasting 50 (!)
roast chickens. They were trying to determine which factors mattered
the most to achieve great roast chicken. They compared size, roasting
temperature, time, position in the oven, basting, etc. If you get
time or inclination you might give it a look. They were a little
surprised to discover that size of the bird mattered as much as it
