You own a Kindle or ebook reader?

For many books there is (was?) an undocumented number of allowed
downloaded. Folks buy a book thinking they will always have access to
it and at some point they clean out their Kindle to make room for new
books. Then they download some of the old ones over again. At some
point they hit the limit and they can't download it from then on.
It's incentive to learn how to burn books onto a backup CD-ROM. Plus
incentive to read public domain books and books with unlimited licenses.
But it's also incentive to purchase any competitor that makes moving a
book to alternate storage easy instead of clean up by deletion.
Project Gutenburg rules for old books, as LibrVox.org rules for audios
of old books.
