Precisely! If your host served a vegan meal without telling you ahead of
time, would you walk out or would you, perhaps, just notice that there was
no meat on the table?

There are a whole lot of meals that qualify as vegan but don't scream "I'm
vegan" at you.

Your host selects the food served. Eat it and enjoy the company!
