"The water's good," Nelson says, sloshing back another glassful as the two
hang out at Nelson's ranch. "I don't trust tap water in Austin — or Dallas
or Houston. All water that comes out of the ground has been violated in
many ways. At least if it comes from the air it's got a better chance ...
If you really don't trust tap water, this is a way to go around that."
I have a similar machine at home....... a Hendrx HR-77R.
My fridge is now full of generated water, and we only use the tap water to
shower, flush the toilet, and water the lawn.
Our water used to taste great, but in the last 7 or so years, it has gone
downhill at an alarming rate. Now you can smell the chemicals in it when
you pour a glass from the tap, it tastes metallic, and it leaves a stain
in the jug when we boil it for coffee/tea.
I've had my machine running for a week now, the first two tank fulls I had
to flush (part of the setup process), and it's now pumping out approx 20lt
(5.5 gallons) a day....... when I remember to empty it, and when I've got
enough empty containers!! (Our humidity is running between 68-83% at the
moment)
I'm using it for drinking, making ice, tea/coffee, and in cooking (even
steaming).
No more buying bottled water for us!!!
Now I need a 20-30lt container that will fit in our fridge, that's easy to
pour water into, and has a tap at the bottom.........
