Those 7-cup models seem pretty adequate to me. I also have a 2-cup
Cuisinart (about 35 bucks) that gets used much more. The bigger ones can
do a decent job of slicing or julienning and are heavier duty of course
but you don't seem to contemplate day to day use and anything beyond a
medium sized Cuisinart or Kitchenaid seems overkill. Those are both good
machines.
