I don't think I'd believe this idiot pavane. You can usually upgrade, ie
to Windows 7 without data loss but it is rare that you can downgrade. In
any case, the golden rule is to back up ALL your data BEFORE any
attempt, upgrade or downgrade. That way you have a fallback. Anyway, a
fresh install of Windows XP is the safest way to go.
