The "Iron Chef" generation
Dined out recently with a group including a 9-year-old boy who orders
carpaccio as a starter. Waiter places in front of him some beautifully
arranged tissue-thin slices on an oval porcelain platter. Kid smiles at
waiter and says, "Five points for plating."
Well, it was funny at the time. Maybe you had to have been there.
