It gets that way, doesn't it? I am very used to XP these days and my
new laptop came with Vista. Vista is, IMNSHO, a steaming crock of the
proverbial. Windows 7 can only be an improvement but I am loathe to
upgrade after the Vista experience. No wonder Vista, like Windows ME
before it, had such a short market lifespan.
Best advice, copy any and all files you want to retain to an external
drive or CD/DVD, then do a fresh install of XP wiping out any trace of
Vista. Note that XP is no longer supported by Micro$oft so bug fixes
won't happen in the future. That could be an issue. I am assured by my
IT boys that some security fixes will be released for XP however.
