All the local grocery stores around here sell inexpensive reusable
shopping bags. We have a supply of them and it was a PITA for a while to
remember to take them with us when we shop, but now we keep a number of
them in each car and are in the habit of returning them to the car the
next trip out instead of storing them int he house. I like using them
because they are big enough that I can get away with 3 or 4 of them for
most shopping trips. Even better, I can manage all the bags in one trip
from the car to the house. By packing them with like items, I also find
it handier for putting things away. Frozen stuff goes into one bag and
heads for the freezer. Another holds things to go in the fridge. Minimal
expense and planning makes shopping a lot easier.
