When I saw this I realized I had totally forgotten about
snow ice cream. We always made it when I was a kid.
I'm going to stop at the store on the way home tonight
and buy some cream. (We just used milk when I was a kid
but I'm going to upgrade to heavy cream.)
I actually have a recipe or 2 for it that I have collected
over the years but never tried. I'll have to look them up
and see what sounds good.
I might also try the maple syrup thing. I used to go to
the Maple Festival in Meyersdale, PA and they had something
similar that the PA Dutch used to make. That was good.
The U. of Pgh. was closed Mon. through Wed. I couldn't believe
it! I've been here 18 years and this is only the 2nd time they've
closed for bad weather. I actually came in to work on Tue. just
assuming that we'd only get Mon. I was here most of the day before
I went down to the main office and found a note on the door that
the Univ. was closed. Boy was I ****ed. Went home at 3pm. And
when they closed Wed. too I was flabbergasted.
