I agree that "the skins split and bulge and they turn to mush," but I
can't imagine the taste would be altered just from freezing, unless
you left them in the freezer too long, maybe more than a few weeks. I
also agree that "they are so cheap that it is not necessary anyway,"
and I wouldn't do it. Hope that helps.
