I would not go with any program that sells you food. Take a look at
the Nutrisystem site and see what the meals are and what they are made
of. Looks to me like you could do better with the Lean Cuisine type
frozen meals with some added fresh vegetables and fruit.
I have a couple of books by Martin Katahn, Phd.D.. One is "The
T-Factor Diet" and the other is "One Meal at a Time." They both have
the same philosophy, low fat balanced meals. There is no food group
that you may not eat, maybe just less of the higher calorie foods.
Both of the books are available on Amazon, many used.
If you like the idea of being in a group, Weight Watchers is very
good. One of the women who goes to the gym I used went from 300 to
150 pounds. It was not overnight and I think she exercised at the
same time.
Calories do count.
