I have known people on all of them.
Jenny Craig seems to be all about portion control. You eat only what is
provided in your meal kits and nothing more. The cost of their food is not
horribly expensive but the shipping will add up in a hurry. I have tried
one of their dishes and found it to be about as bad as any microwave food.
Edible but nothing to rave about. If you strictly adhere to it you are
bound to lose weight. You'd get the same results if you strictly adhered to
any portion and calorie control diet, though.
NutraSystems was all the rage in an office I supported. Everyone was doing
it. Nobody lost much weight as I recall. Not sure why.
Atkins works but it can be very monotonous unless you are a very creative
cook. And all those ingredients really can jack up your food bill. And my
gawd but you get so tired of meat.
Mediterranean diet is wonderful. Really damned expensive too. All that
seafood is premium priced. I'd live on it of I had about 1000.00 a month to
buy those great ingredients like fresh snapper, clams, mussels and fresh
veggies.
What really does work seems to be entire diet changes such as the two above.
South Beach works for a lot of people. But with all of them, you have to
stick with it and not stray. That's the hard part.
I tend to avoid any diet that requires you buy their products. You can do
better and cheaper. I priced an Atkins bar for example and the damned thing
was 2 bucks for a couple of bites of food. I can eat half a baked chicken
for that much.
