Clothes Lines

I have a clothes drier, plus one of those "retractor-type" washing lines
in my laundry room. We live in a rural area on 25 acres of land which
(much to my delight) means we need field glasses to see our nearest
neighbor's house... so worrying about "what the neighbors will say
and/or do" about seeing my laundry flapping on the lines is a moot
point.
There was an out-door washing line out in the back yard when we bought
the property, but we eventually took it down - because I too prefer to
have "bug-less" and "bird-poop-free" laundry. It can also be rather dry
and dusty here, and having to re-wash and re-hang a couple of loads of
laundry because a "dust-devil" whirled by while said laundry was still
out on the lines is not my idea of fun either.
FWIW, I use the drier for some things e.g. sheets, towels and certain
clothing that is "tumbler drier safe". But I still hang a lot of stuff
on the line, and I do wipe it down with a cloth before using it,
because even being indoors it still tends to gather some dust on the
lines.
