I've been out of town for a couple of weeks, and just got back. Before
I replied, I thought I'd read all the 84 responses to date. Now I'm
hungry, even though I just ate!
I stayed with my sister, who was on WW. She lost a lot of weight, but
was getting discouraged, because she didn't know where to go from there.
So, my advice is, before you join a program, figure out how to get out
of it. After all, you are hopefully looking for a permanent change, not
just to lose 50 pounds in a year and then gain it all back in the next
year! Diets where the program sells you the food don't sound good to
me. How do you finish them and transfer to a maintenance diet? How do
you learn about the maintenance diet? WW is good because they use
regular food and you learn about what's in the food, which will help in
the transfer. Still, WW is a business and they would like your money.
My sister wanted to start some fad diet. HCG. Some "magic" drops that
"burn" the fat. I did not give her any encouragement. If there was any
magic weight loss, everybody would be doing it.
