mushrooms forever....well, almost
I had to leave town in a hurry. I had button mushrooms in the fridge,
only a few days from th emarket and still too good to toss. Having
nothing to lose, I put em in a bronw paper bag, and then into a
ziplock.
Two weeks later.....the paper bag was very moist, but the mushrooms
were fine, after I peeled away that outer skin.

By the by, I ate at a fantastic resto - good selection, attentive
waiter who didn't call us 'guys', no loud music, extensive wine list,
real cloth table 'linens'. Even the butter was served as a duo - one
plain scoop of whipped butter, the other drizzled with EVO and crushed
red pepper. For dessert -after my three cheese ravioli and an
eggplant-asparagus rolatini with plenty of fresh tomato sauce- I
shared the lava cake with a friend. It was served as a scoop of
vanilla ice cream in one small bowl, the lava cake separate, and a
finely sliced strawberry and some red raspberries with which to
decorate, and a sprig of mint. All served on a large oblong dish.
Wished I'd had a camera. 5 stars for taste and presentation. Meal for
four came to $140 with tax and tip - not cheap, but def. worth it.
