The Academy of Sciences has cheap late opening on Thursday night
(free if within one week of your birthday), no kids allowed that
night, and they have a planetarium (not included in basic admission,
but the aquarium is).

"Cheap" meaning $12 or so.

Across the street, the DeYoung presently has an impressionist
exhibit on tour from Paris. Their late opening night is Friday.
