I had a more than thirty year old food processor that was handed down to
me by my mother (I don't remember the make, but it was one of the first
affordable ones on the market and even at that we kids had to pool our
money to buy it for Ma) finally went belly up three years ago. I shopped
and compared carefully for its replacement and finally decided on a
12-cup Kitchenaid. Price-wise, ease of use-wise and replacement
parts-wise, the Kitchenaid and Cuisinart were comparable, but the KA
edged out Cuisinart in performance. It also beat it in appearance and
color choices, but that's a strictly personal thing
