I've had good luck using sourdough (or other French) bread,
and a simple egg/buttermilk/vanilla extract/ground cinnamon mixture.
You can however use milk instead of buttermilk.

It is best to sprinkle additional cinnamon on as it is grilling,
and that the cinnamon be freshly ground.
