Your black beans are redder than mine. Or else it's the relative
color balance of my monitor vs. yours. At any rate, what's good about
frying your own beans (canned or dried) is that they can be as fried
and as moist and as mashed as you like them. The few times I've
bought canned refried beans the consistency has been a lot smoother
and drier than I prefer them. -aem
