I have never been anywhere that a host "plated" for anyone except
small children or aged guests or the disabled. Retail food
establishments and institutions such as hospitals have to "plate"
food. If I were to "plate" food for my family or guests I'm sure that
they would assume I was a stingy old Scrouge and very likely mumble
some not very nice remarks.
