Lemon curd is fine as filling as long as you don't try to make it too thick.
If you make the lemon curd yourself, it will be have enough presence with
even a thinnish layer. I'd be inclined to make a 4-layer cake out of it by
splitting 2 layers. The other thing is, what type of icing would you use on
the exterior?
