That was the biggest culture shock in Napoli...You're standing behind
someone waiting to purchase an item or order a caffe and someone just
comes along and pushes you out the way and no one seems to notice but
you. Absolutely no concept of personal space either.
I do have to say though, that this didn't seem to be the case in
northern italy when I ventured there. There was a perfect queue for the
WC in a gas station once. I'm convinced southern italians are something
else entirely. Like they never got over their partial northern african
heritage.
