Well there's methyl, **ethyl**, propyl, pentyl, hexyl, septyl, octyl,
nonyl and so forth. There are variations in between if the carbon chain
branches. That's where you get your iso or n prefix. Drop the 'yl' and
substitute 'anol" to make them one word. That's if I remember my organic
chemistry correctly. But I'm pretty close. Name a grandkid Octyl and
prove me wrong ;-)
